Ange/Harmony [G-CB07]

Bermuda's a clan that's kinda a meme in Vanguard known for only getting real support once a year, be good for a month or two and then fade away and having very expensive cards. Its time again for their yearly support with G-CB07 but I think they'll be very strong for a long time.

I'll be covering 2-3 decks for Bermudas since A LOT of players at my locals play this clan because waifu... Ange is the first one because I think its overall the best variant, there are 2~ versions of the deck people are playing and this is my preferred one with a heavier emphasis in the early game.

Notes

If you open with the Shandee and Shiratsuyu combos, rush and fight for stride priority because there's virtually no other meta deck that can compete with this full combo in the early game.
With strong early game comparable (maybe even better) than Blasters strong and very powerful mid-game, Ange is basically SGD updated for the end of G-era.

Cards

  • Shiratsuyu and Cadet, Shizuku
Shiratsuyu and Shizuku makes a mini loop:
    1. Use Shizuku's ability, she goes in to soul to check top 5 for a grade 3.
    2. Play Shiratsuyu, she returns Shizuku to hand from the soul, gets power and counter charges/soul charges.
    3. Repeat steps above.
This mini loop is can be a recurring +1 and helps with consistency.
  • Wyz is my preferred PG because she's a harmony card which this deck sometimes does lack and she's the easiest PG to loop back to hand/recycle.

Game Plan

  • General play:
    1. Mulligan for Shandee.
    2. Ride grade 1, you want to move Cadet Shizuku to the side-back. Unless you already have counter-blast avoid playing cards in front because a player that understands Bermudas will just play to deny counter-blast for Shandee and Shizuku. If you have Akari set her up in the back row, usually behind vanguard so she has a higher chance going off.
    3. Ride grade 2, you may want to play Shandee on rear-guard instead because Akari can bounce her back to hand so you can use her again next turn. Anyway you want to play the Shiratsuyu/Shizuku loop if you have it otherwise use Shandee to draw and then pressure. Shandee and Shiratsuyu can make 21 columns so you easily do 16|21|21.
    4. A. Ride Ange and use her ability to draw and search for either Lucille or Layla (+2) then stride or just try to replicate step 3.
      B. Re-ride grade 2 to fight for stride priority and try to replicate step 3.
  • First and second stride is almost always Alk... Here's a sample first stride Alk no GB3 and this is probably not optimal but =P

    1. Order is important here, first set this up:
      1. We're going to play Spica and Ayna first.
      2. Play Shiratsuyu to proc Ayna, give Harmony to Spica. Use Shiratsuyu's ability to counter-charge/soul-charge and +power.
      3. Play Kruk behind Spica to proc Harmony.
    2. Battle:
      1. Shiratsuyu attacks first for 14.
      2. Spica boosted by Kruk attacks, Spica will return Shiratsuyu back to hand and we're going to play Lucille in her place. Lucille is going to +power to 3 units for example +5 to herself, Spica and Kruk. Ayna gives Lucille Harmony. Spica attacks for 23.
      3. Kruk's end of battle ability procs, we're going to return Spica to hand and play her back in the same place basically re-standing her.
      4. Lucille attacks, boosted for 23.
      5. Alk attacks, we're going to return Lucille and Ayna to hand then call Ayna behind Spica and Lucille back where she was (pseudo re-stand). Lucille is going to +5 power to herself, Spica and Ayna. Drive check.
      6. Lucille attacks for 16+any triggers.
      7. Spica boosted by Ayna attacks, we're going to return Lucille to hand, just call her back to the same spot again and give power to herself, Spica and Ayna. Spica attacks for 36.
      8. Lucille attacks for 16.
        • Add 5-10k to each attack if this was GB3.

Mulligan - look for

  • Shandee, Shiratsuyu and a grade 1.

Strong Against

  • Decks with weak early game.
  • Chaos - basically auto win.

Weak Against

  • Crazy guard-con where hand size becomes irrelevant for example Scharhrot and Messiahs but Ange can most of the time just win before these decks get there.
