Altmile/Brave [G-CB07 Updated]

The meta has once again shifted with the release of Diva's Festa; Bermudas have powerhouses of their own with early game on-par with Blasters. Scharhrot, Shiranui, Chronojet and Nociel/Gyze are also threats so... Here's a build more suited to this insane game pace meta.altmilebrave

Notes

The most important rule; ALWAYS fight for stride priority. We want to be the one with a good first stride so we can hit our opponents hard with Fides before they can stabilize.

Card Notes

  • Blazing Sword, Fides is still our most reliable first stride since he doesn't use counter-blast. Combined with Deity Altmile's ability the turn can be a +3.
  • Luminous Hope is for no counter-blast turns.
  • Aerial Altmile is a solid/arguably still the best first stride for us if striding second. Together with Deity Altmile and Benon his a +3 play.
  • Dizmel is mainly for the Megacolony match up.
  • Knight of Connection, Pictus can be tutored with Deity Altmile's ability when we ride/stride to give us an Altmile to hand.
  • Benon adds to the deck's early game but mainly to tutor Knight of Powercharge; this combo replaces Albion+Alectos as it only costs 1 counter-blast.
  • Sarugal allows the deck extra draws when tutored via Deity Altmile and Immortal Fides. His also really good for first stride Immortal Fides as most players will just take damage until they hit triggers.

Game Plan

  • General stride order:
    1. Blazing Fides or Immortal Fides if you think you can end - flip Luminous Hope Dragon.
    2. Immortal Fides, Luminous Hope Dragon or occasionally Ultima.
  • Ideally you want be at 5 counter-blast by first stride while your opponent is on 3+ damage but no good player will ever let that happen so realistically we sit around 2 damage, so our bread and butter first stride:
    1. Tutor Damascus with Deity, Altmile's on-ride/stride ability.
    2. Stride Blazing Sword, Fides or Aerial Altmile if striding second.
    3. Call Benon to tutor Powercharge if you don't have him already.
    4. Use Powercharge to help enable brave for the turn.
    5. Proceed to battle.
    6. End turn proc Powercharge and Damascus to counter-charge and draw.
      • If you do get a lot of counter-blast though consider Immortal Fides right away.
  • Our second stride is almost always Immortal Fides, for this play we want as much counter-blast as we can get (1 for Fides' ability and the rest for Livarot and Suleiman), as many Felax in the back row possible and of course brave active.
    1. Begin by striding Fides and using Deity Altmile to superior call Felax, Suleiman or Livarot. You basically want a field like this:
      Untitled
    2. Septgal attacks first and then Suleiman superior calls Livarot over Septgal.
    3. Livarot attacks and calls Suleiman over the existing Suleiman.
    4. Repeat above until no more counter-blast.
    5. Attack with Fides to reset board.
      • Felax is honestly the mvp here pumping the front. 2 is enough to basically nullify 2 defensive triggers (21k vanguard) while a 3rd Felax should be able to break 26k.
      • Order is important here because Suleiman gives 2k to whatever he calls.

Mulligan - look for

  • Curve - keep in mind grade 3/stride fodder is somewhat searchable.
  • Septgal or Benon.
  • Felax against control.

Altmile is Strong Against

  • Decks with weak early game because of the way Altmile works and you always have a decent chance to all-in and win before your opponent fully stabilizes.
  • Decks that don't generate a large hand.

Altmile is Weak Against

  • Chaos - pretty much scoop this match up
  • Megacolony
