For those that don't know what "Rescue" is, it's Angel Feather's keyword. Rescue heals a number of cards from your Damage Zone and then deals to you damage equal to the cards healed. Basically you swap cards from your Damage Zone with the top cards of your deck but because it "deals damage", trigger effects go off. In short, "Rescue" is a Drive Check. Here are some things "Rescue" does for the deck:
  1. Extra Drive Checks: especially useful when you don't want to stride.
  2. Extra "damage swaps" to power up Broken Nurse & the chance to add more "Nociel" cards to hand.
If you know how to play the deck you can probably skip the rest of this post but otherwise~

Here are the new "Rescue" comrades

As a Nociel player you generally don't want to stride unless there is literally nothing to do because proc'ing Love Sniper's skill to generate hand advantage mostly outweighs striding. Motor Nurse and Maalik now give the deck a genuine purpose to stride.

Motor Nurse can be placed on a Rear Guard circle when you move her from the Damage Zone to Drop Zone (basically (+1) free unit) and Maalik can perform Rescue-1 after she's attacked/boosted on the turn she's been moved to a Rear Guard circle from the Damage Zone. So for example:

Drill Motor Nurse

  • Stride Raphael > Activate Raphael skill > Heal-1 (Motor Nurse) > Call Motor Nurse to Rear Guard circle.
  • Perform Rescue (Via Gavrail stride, Maalik or Surgery Angel) > Heal (Motor Nurse) > Damage Check > Call Motor Nurse to Rear Guard circle.
Motor Nurse allows the deck to (+1) during any turn you can Heal a damage, she mainly fills the void of not being able to plus when we're not on Love Sniper and also gives a little field recovery against retire (I'm looking at you Kagero)

Black Bomber, Maalik

  • Stride Holy Seraph, Nociel > Make Attacks > Move 2 units to Damage Zone > Move Maalik from Damage Zone to Rear Guard circle (her skill is now active) > Attack/Boost with Maalik > Perform Rescue-1.
Maalik also has a neat little loop with Stand triggers assuming that you've deck thinned heaps or you're just super lucky =D After Maalik attacks she performs Rescue-1, this skill can be repeated if she checks a Stand trigger and receives all effects (Stand+5000 power).

  • Maalik attacks > end of battle skill, Rescue-1 > Drive Check, Stand trigger > Stand & power to Maalik > Maalik attacks > end of battle skill, Rescue-1 > Drive Check, Stand trigger...
Got the point? As long as Maalik checks Stand triggers she can stand, attack and perform Rescue-1 continuously. I'm only playing her at 1 because I had to make room to play the 2 Pokkurs.

Rescue adds the extra layer of versatility to the deck that it didn't have before; the only way to really apply pressure, defend or generate advantage previously was to damage swap tons and hit "Nociel" cards all while powering up Broken Hearts; now we have Gavrail, Suriel and Surgery Angel as alternative pressure plays.

These three units mainly do the same thing which is at the cost of  (1) counter-blast; perform "Rescue" though obviously at different times and for different reasons.

Holy Seraph, Gavrail

At the cost of counter-blast (1), Gavrail has two abilities; give 2 units +2000 power everytime a card enters the damage zone during a battle and Rescue-2 at the end of the battle Gavrail attacked.
  • Activate Gavrail ability > Ability part 1 - give 2 units the power up ability > Attack with rear-guards first (because I play 12 Stand) > Gavrail attacks, tripple drive > Ability part 2 - Rescue-2 > Apply effects, units selected for part 1 also get power.
Gavrail's power up part of the ability is honestly not that important, she's mainly used for her ability to Rescue-2 which basically means we get 5 drive checks. You want to use her to apply pressure or if you're behind and need to hit triggers to make a comeback, i mean imagine using her in the mid-late game after you've filtered the deck with Refros...hitting multiple Stand or Heal triggers isn't hard at all...

Holy Seraph, Suriel

Suriel is one of the best G guardians available right now, her ability is simple but effective. Simply counter-blast (1) to Rescue-1 when you use her but wait there's a little bit more, you can look at the top card of the deck and choose whether to place it at the top or bottom of the deck.
  • Opponent attacks > G guard with Suriel > Suriel's ability: Part 1 look at the top card of the deck > Place the card back on top or bottom > Suriel's ability: Part 2, Rescue-1 > Apply effects.
Suriel is one of the best cards in this deck because:
  1. She basically gives you a free drive check during your opponent's turn.
  2. Synergises with Love Sniper extremely well, check a "Nociel" card? Add that to your hand.
  3. Her Rescue-1 procs your Broken Hearts during your opponents turn, combine this with Battle Cupid, you get the idea...

Sugery Angel

I think its become a thing now for Angel Feathers to have good Stand triggers...Surgery Angel has a very simple ability; at the end of a battle he boosted, counter-blast (1), return him to deck to Rescue-1.
  • Unit attacks boosted by Sugery Angel > end of battle, Surgery Angel skill > Rescue-1.
Tip with Surgery Angel, you want to attack/boost with him before your Vanguard attacks since he returns to the deck so that: 1. If you hit a stand trigger you can have an extra attack before re-standing via Vanguard drive checks and 2. Filter a card so there's a higher chance of hitting triggers with your drive checks.

Honestly I didn't really feel like talking much about the deck; it is really getting kinda of silly now...but "Rescue" really has made this deck so much more fun to play. I'm just going to end it here by saying; here's my small post on my "Nociel"/"Rescue" build, there's a lot more you can do in this deck now so don't be afraid to try different things I'm sure there's a ton of combos, tips and tricks I didn't mention myself.

My next post is probably another update...for my Gold Paladin deck.
