Battle Sisters/Oracle (deck recipe) [GBT12]

OTT is meta once again. Still Water Festival Deity, Ichikishima is pretty overpowered, regardless of variant as long as you play 4 copies of her your OTT deck is competitive, she has an extremely unfair ability that basically punishes players for not having an optimal hand. However there is one archetype that has a slight edge over the rest; Battle Sisters.
There are 2 versions of the deck:
  • Battle Sisters pure - More consistent but generally generates less advantage and is less explosive on stride turns (because they don't play Nanase).
  • Battle Sisters/Oracle - The variant that we are covering here. More explosive, typically generates more advantages but is less consistent and harder to play because the deck uses a lot more soul and has more issues with card requirements; for example Ophidian requires an Oracle vanguard for the draw.
The concept of the deck is rather simple, we use Battle Sister cards to apply pressure and generate card advantage through the early game, deal as much damage possible and then end the game promptly with Ichikishima. Sound familiar? This deck is literally the reincarnation of SGD (despite Blasters being a thing Battle Sisters is much more alike). What you have is a deck that enables early aggressive play that goes into just big enough power turns with Florine's stride abilities (card stacking and power buffs), the cherry on top comes from Ichikishima which gives the extra push to end games if your early game failed. The downside? No multi attacks, meaning decks like Blade Wings and Luard don't care.

Notes

Some card explanations:

  • Ichikishima is pretty much the only stride you need to max out, the rest could honest be anything...
  • 1 Amatsu-hikone; she's a recyclable sentinel, very important in the mirror.
  • Its highly recommended to play a couple of draw triggers because this deck has soul problems.
  • This deck is very simply to navigate, the list is pretty much the best 50 Battle Sister/Oracle cards with synergy together. The most important thing you need to understand is the power spikes.

Playing the deck

  • First power spike - Grade 2
    • Simply play as many cards down as you can and bash...Ideally you want Sable or Ophidian so you're guaranteed a plus otherwise play your on-hit RGs if your opponent does guard, they're still losing cards anyway which will make your next wave of on-hit attacks scarier.
    • If you plan to ride grade 3 first try your best to filter/draw in to a heal trigger if you haven't got one already so you can g-guard and stride Ichikishima immediately.
  • Second power spike/Win-con - Ichikishima
    • Despite Battle Sister's good early game their mid-game/first stride is very lackluster; at best is usually 2 21k RG columns and draw a couple cards. You actually want to dodge striding first if possible so you can g-guard and go straight in to Ichikishima for immediate game ending pressure.
    • Ichikishima serves as a card generator with her ability to just draw 2 cards...but her OPness comes from her GB3 guard restriction ability which punishes players for not having an optimal hand, you literally cannot guard if you don't have the adequate amount of grade 1 or 2s; in a deck that plays 10 crit, can stack triggers and can reach 21k+ with ease its bloody frustrating to play against.
    • You may have noticed descriptions are rather short and nothing fancy...thats because the deck is literally the best OTT cards put together, there are no combos or flashy plays because there is only 3 attacks each turn; the strat is just drop your hand to bash and hope for the best.
  • The pros of this deck is that it this strat works against 90% of the decks in the game as most decks are GB locked and very few decks at the moment have recyclable PGs.
  • The con is that its basically an auto-loss against decks that can grab 2-3 PGs to hand every turn. Recyclable PGs also seem to be a thing Bushiroad is pushing so eventually every clan in theory should get one.
