Yugioh - Dark Performapal Dracoslayer Magicians (Dark PeDra Mages) Deck Feb16 [Adjusted Ban List]

I've been holding this deck list of mine for a while now but since YCS just ended I thought I'd share my list. When PePe was hit by the ban list everyone was crying but those that follow the OCG knew the deck was far from being dead...and this is what I played soon after based on cards I had access to.

Essentially this deck is a rank 4 spam deck made up of multiple engines; I'm not going to type out all the monster effects (you guys know how to google the cards right? =P) but I will try my best to explain how the engines work and their roles:

The Dark Engine>>>

2 Armageddon Knight, 1 Zephyros, 1 Shaddoll Dragon & 1 ROTA

Just a quick summary of the card effects:
Armageddon - Sends 1 Dark monster to the grave when his summoned.
Zephyros - Can special summon himself when he's in the grave by bouncing 1 face-up card you control back to hand.
Shaddoll Dragon - Destroys a Spell/Trap when it's sent to the grave.
ROTA - Searches Armageddon Knight.

Because the deck lost a large portion of its search engine in the ban list the deck lost consistency and essentially; 1 card combos thus we now have the luxury to run other things that does similar things; Armageddon fills almost the same role as Joker/Monkeyboard as dumping either Zephyros or Dragon causes a +1 (the +1 takes form in a free MST or a free monster).
- Shaddoll Dragon is a free MST from the deck (important as it slips under Vanity's Emptiness and Anti-Spell Fragrance).
- Armageddon+Zephyros is any rank 4.

Basically what you need to know is that this is a supporting engine where Armageddon Knight is a 1 card rank 4 or a free MST as well as grave set up for Instant Fusion!

The Performapal Engine>>>

1 Joker, 1 Monkeyboard, 3 Sorcerer, 1 Lizardraw, 1 Guiturtle & 1 Secondonkey

Joker - Normal summon to search for a Magician or Performapal monster.
Monkeyboard - A 1 card scale; searches a Performapal monster when placed as a scale.
Sorcerer - When special summoned, destroys up to 2 cards and searches for equivalent amount of Performapal monsters.
Lizardraw - Destroys itself as a scale to draw a card if the other scale is a Performalpal.
Guiturtle - When it's a scale, draw a card when a Performapal is placed on the other scale.
Secondonkey - Dumps or searches for a Performapal monster when you have scales.

The Performapals are 1 of the core engines in this deck, the other one being Dracos. Both do a similar thing but gives access to different tools. They mainly serve as your hand generators; generally you use them to gain card advantage as well as extend combos if you don't get your other engines. Sorcerer helps set up extra deck and refill hand while the others provide you with scales and deck thinning power.

The Draco Engine>>>

1 Luster, 3 Master, 3 Vector, 3 Draco Face-Off, 2 Ignister, 2 Dinoster & 1 Majester

Luster - Destroy opposite scale and grab another copy from the deck.
Master - Destroy opposite scale.
Vector - Negate opponent's pendulum zone card effects.
Draco Face-Off - Searcher.
Ignister - Non-target card removal (spins a card back to deck), can special summon a Draco monster from deck and rank 8 access.
Dinoster - Protects scales, special summons Draco monster from grave and rank 8 access.
Majester - Searches for other pendulum cards, can special summon a Draco monster from extra deck; extends plays.

The main use of the Draco engine is for scales and easy extra deck refill. They grant super easy access to rank 4s and the powerful Draco extra deck monsters which enables rank 8 access (2x any combination of Ignister and Dinoster) and combo extension as they can all special a Draco monster for possible another free extra deck monster.
Draco's alone can win games as they are a self sustaining engine special summoning cards from every place possible for free pluses as well as providing consistency with Draco Face-Off.

The Magician Engine>>>

1 Dragonpit, 3 Dragonpulse & 2 Wisdom-Eye

Dragonpit - When there's another Magician in the pendulum zone he can destroy a spell/trap at the cost of a pendulum monster.
Dragonpulse - Same as Dragonpit but he destroys monsters.
Widom-Eye - When there's another Magician or Performapal in the pendulum zone he can replace himself with another Magician scale.

The Magicians don't actually do that much in this deck but act as as solid back up scales as well as being targets for the "Normal Engine" and offer the occasional card removal utility as I don't main deck Twin Twisters (spell/trap hate) or Raigeki (monster removal).

The Normal Engine>>>

1 Rescue Rabbit & 3 Painful Decision

Rabbit - Banish to special summon 2 Normal monsters from deck with the same name.
Painful Decision - Send 1 lv4 or lower Normal monster from deck to grave, add a same card to hand.

The Normal engine is simply a supporting engine I found that just has amazing synergy with the Draco and Magician engines as they both run a high count of normal monsters. Rabbit is similar to Armageddon Knight, he's a 1 card rank 4 and Painful Decision acts as a ROTA+Foolish Burial grabbing you a card as well as setting up the grave for Instant Fusion and Dinoster.

Deck Strategy>>>

The optimal idea of the deck is to open with any 1 card combo; Armageddon Knight, Joker, Monkeyboard, Rabbit or Draco Face-Off. Any of these in your hand will enable an instant rank 4 to begin plays whether its a defensive wall or offensive card removal. Everything else is used to support this strategy further pushing combos to make more rank 4s/big monsters.

In short, the theory is trade 1 for 1 with the opponent but because I have a lot of 1 card combo enablers and hand recovery from Performapals I'll end up with the card advantage.
It's a battle of resources where pendulum decks once set up right has infinite of.
